Pattaya – A Dutch expat and his family handed out free dried food on his 64th birthday to the needy in Pattaya instead of holding a party yesterday (May 26th).

 

Mr. Libert Tuinsta, newly 64, a Dutch national, his family, and a team from Jay’s Rent a Car handed out dried food such as rice, canned fish, and eggs as well as some cash to the needy in Pattaya on Beach Road in front of the Pattaya Police station.  The event had previously been cleared with Pattaya Police to take place who assisted with crowd control.

 

Mr. Tuinsta told the Pattaya News, “It was my 64th birthday, which I normally hold a party for each year with my family and friends. However, during this Covid–19 situation, it is against current Thai rules and regulations not to hold a party, and it’s in poor taste besides in my opinion

Well done that man abject poverty is a terrible cancer inflicted by many governments around the world and even more shameful when they are rich ones ????

Well done lad, you have donated more in value to needy Thais than they will get from the extra 500 billion being argued about now, during intervals to go stuff your face in the plentiful new and expensive building dinning room.

I think we could all learn from this, and instead of pointing the finger and blaming this or that, just start doing what we can to help.

Always liked the Dutch.

In my younger days i would try to get to Amsterdam as often as i could and always left with a smile sometimes a slight cough maybe all the coffee i consumed?

Nice gesture but I warn the expats in Phuket not to try this for fear of attracting a large fine (or BiB sting) for hosting a gathering.

Them food handouts stopped a long time ago I've not seen one for ages the ones in my area did get permission from the police and orbortor,

It would be absolutely wonderful if a few Hi So Thai followed your lead and helped their countrymen.

But we already know the answer to that!
