Prime Minister Hun Sen orders priority vaccination as planned and not in “pockets”

Prime Minister Hun Sen today instructed all ministers to stop proposing vaccination drives in specific sector areas in provinces but rather to implement the planned inoculation for senior citizens and those within the stipulated age group to achieve the herd immunity as outlined for capital cities and provinces.

 

He said Cambodia needs to achieve its planned herd immunity to contain, manage and stop the spread of Covid-19 which the government cannot achieve without the support and cooperation of all everyone.

 

Speaking this morning over his Facebook page, Mr. Hun Sen said he wants some of his ministers to stop proposing vaccination drives in “pockets” or “at place a little bit, at place a little bit” rather than trying to implement the strategic vaccination plan outlined by the government and the Health Ministry.
