May 31, 20215 yr Continuing the story of what gas and my Flame thrower. Went to my local shop but they only had those smaller bottle with different fitting than your normal cooker. As it was only the local supermarket they would only exchange bottles anyway. So trip to my not so local gas shop. Had plenty of bottles of various sizes, but again the smaller bottles all had a wrong fitting. Asked about an adaptor so my pipe could fit but "No Hab" So back to Google and came up with this fitting:- https://www.lazada.co.th/products/4-i741530739-s1414114198.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.15.6074abfaMldrh7&search=1 Looks like what I need, not sure the threads will be suitable, maybe order one and take a chance that it will work. Interestingly at the shop they had some orange bottles and a couple of blue ones, but indication as to what kind of gas was inside. ????
May 31, 20215 yr For 125 Baht you can't really go far wrong but I reckon it's what you are looking for. Do verify the small tanks have "cooking gas" and not Butane. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
May 31, 20215 yr IMPORTANT NOTE - Please stay on topic - this thread is NOT for discussing the ins and outs of what gas or gas mixture is in the bottles. Posts attempting to de-rail the thread will be removed. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Well the small tanks are same color, green, as the normal cooking gas ones, presumably have "Cooking Gas" in them. But what is it? ????♂️ The small Orange and Blue tanks looks like the same fitting but no indication as to what kind of gas is in them. Unless someone can give a definite answer to what gas is in the different color cylinders I'll just go along with the green one and see how it works. ????

The colours are often just the "owner" of the cylinder, it's the fitting that indicates what's in it. What does your gas-man say is in there? And this is positively the LAST post on the subject of gas mixtures. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

We have a small burner that lives on top of a Blue gas bottle used by HID in Bangkok. In our town there are no small blue bottles so we had to buy a new cooker and bottle. I am still of the opinion that you need a regulator between the bottle and the torch! Edited June 1, 20215 yr by VocalNeal

The torch likely has a regulator built into the handle. Not really any different than the torches/heater/burners/lights that screw direct to the bottles....

Our neighbor has one of those small green bottles with a cooker screwed right on top without any regulator. I think you need the full pressure for the flame to blast out the end to zap the weeds. Anyway there is a regulator knob on the torch to adjust the flame if it's too high.

Yes it has a regulator built into the handle and as you say "Not really any different than the torches/heater/burners/lights that screw direct to the bottles...."
