Sorry I'm not sure exactly which forum to put this into.

I want to move some items from Krabi to Udon Thani: Two large desks and chairs, a power generator, and two motorbikes. Does anybody have a rough idea about how to go about this, and how much it's likely to cost?

About eight years ago, I posted a motorbike from krabi to Udon.

It cost around 1000bht and arrived in good time and condition.

Go to your local post office with pics of items, and approximate weights and they should be a le to give you a ballpark figure for the price.

How do you anticipate moving it?

If you don’t fancy the post office.

Im moving a whole house inc 4 bikes from Hat Yai to Khon Kaen - it wasn’t as expensive as I thought, still a lot tho’. Packing and loading included.

If you can pack the stuff and yourself, then a local sip-lor will do it, but they will consolidate a load, a lot easier if you are on the way to BKK. Locals will know where there is a depot, but with multiple Items, cheaper than post office, but no strapping down, everything is wedged and stacked. Roll the dice.

We moved the complete house contents from Krabi to Rayong.

My wife spoke to a few lorry drivers in Krabi, one finally gave her a number for a driver who would be returning up north in a weeks time. We filled the complete truck, not expensive.

I moved from Udon to Ao Nang using a rented pick up truck for my things and shipped my motorbike on the train. A year or so later I moved from Krabi to Hua Hin. I could not find a pick up for rent in Krabi. Had to take a bus to Khao Lak, rent a truck, return to Krabi, deliver stuff to Hua Hin, return truck to Khao Lak, bus back to Krabi. Then I rode my motorbike to Surat Thani, loaded it on my train to HH. It was an ordeal.
