Thailand's Crime Suppression Division are investigating a big online gun club dealing in war weapons that has 1,000 members.

At the end of May a sting was conducted in Songkhla in the south of the country to buy four war weapons.

This led to a raid on a Thonburi gold shop and several other locations in the Thai capital and the provinces.

Eight arrests have so far been made, Daily News reported earlier.

The owner of the gold shop is believed to be behind the sale after another ringleader was arrested.

Pol Col Pornsak Laorujiralai of the CSD said this club was a big player in the selling of illegal weaponry.

Daily News reported that it was not connected to the Southern insurgency.

One wonders where the war weapons are coming from?

I remember over 25 years ago there was a actual gunshop just over boarder from Malaysia just after you crossed the river!
