Daily News reported that trading standards police headed by Pol Maj-Gen Natthasak Chaowanasai raided a depot in the Bang Bon area of western Bangkok after a one month investigation.

The investigation concerned the selling of fake beauty products and cosmetics under the Dr Jill brand.

More than 40,000 items worth 5 million baht were taken into evidence and a 33 year old man from China who has been living in Thailand for ten years or more was arrested.

He was the owner of the depot and said that the goods belonged to a friend and all he was doing was selling them for him.

The bust was good news for a Thai celebrity called Napapha Tantrakul or Pat who produces the real Dr Jill brand and was also at the press conference.

5 million baht of fake Sinovac next,,,,,,?

Another quality Scheinese.

A copy of fake?

In reality most (womens) cosmetics are all fake. Pots of tiny cream for £80 that the main constituent of is 'Aqua'.   You are what you eat and no amount of gunge you apply on the outside is going to make any significant difference.

I've been to the perfume houses in Grasse and they sell similar smellies to the heavily marketed companies at a fraction of the cost.  Same applies to £50 logoed tee shirts that are manufactured in the same shops as £5 tee shirts. Why on earth can some celebrity (sports / media / music )  add their name to a product and it suddenly become so wonderful ?

One interesting discovery years ago was that mens 'Old Spice' came out top in a smell test, but obviously had been relegated to the laughable  'boomer' pile.

Maybe instead of Astra Zenaca or Pfizer or Moderna they should name the jabs Oprah, Swift or Jolie.  They could charge 5 times as much and people would be lining up mo matter the consequences or side effects.
