Govt Program To Attract HNWI

Featured Replies

While analysts high on their own supplies of hopium have projected tens of thousands of HNWI flooding into Thailand because of the latest  fantasy scheme. The reality is far different.

The throngs leaving their homes for greener pastures aren't worth tens of millions but rather tens of hundred thousands.

More disappointing for the schemers is that the number isn't one million. In fact it's not even ten percent of that...it's five

If every HNWI depicted came to Thailand it wouldn't even equal 50k.

Perhaps more respect is due those that are in fact living here and especially those paying taxes on income 50k+ pm.

Of course, front of the line is communist China all the black money running for the door.

Maybe they should have launched this program in years past because it would also appear that the numbers are actually down both by country and as an aggregate.

I’m not sure if that would make a difference.  When googling for information about where the wealthy Chinese are immigrating to, the places that come up certainly didn’t include Thailand a few years ago, nor does Thailand have the things that are drawing these wealthy Chinese immigrants.

  • “Los Angeles was the top city for Chinese millionaires to buy property, followed by New York, Boston and  San Francisco.”

The strong education system, cleaner air and better food safety made the U.S. a favorite for Chinese investors.”
