BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand and Indonesia have discussed the promotion of trade and investment between the two countries for economic recovery post-COVID-19, as raised by the Prime Minister and the new Indonesian Ambassador in a meeting.

The new Ambassador of Indonesia to Thailand Rachmat Budiman, made a courtesy call to the Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, upon the inauguration of his mission in Thailand.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister of Thailand expressed well wishes to the President of Indonesia and his wife, while thanking the government of Indonesia for assisting the repatriation mission of Thai nationals from Indonesia due to the pandemic, as carried out by the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta.

The Indonesian Ambassador said he was delighted to be serving his post in Thailand, while stressing his intention to help strengthen Thailand-Indonesia relations, both at the bilateral level, and within the ASEAN Community.

Both nations have discussed economic recovery cooperation between the two countries after COVID-19. The PM and Indonesian Ambassador agree that both countries have the capacity to further expand existing economic cooperation, as well as trade and investment, in order to support economic recovery in both countries.
