Popular Post webfact
UEFA EURO 2020 opening ceremony (Photo by Andrew Medichini / POOL / AFP) Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed concern over an increase in illegal gambling by Thais during the month-long UEFA European Soccer Championship, or Euro 2020. The prime minister had instructed the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and relevant agencies to increase the monitoring of illegal gambling, especially online, and to enforce the law against the offenders strictly, according to the Deputy government spokeswoman, Traisulee Traisoranakul. Traidulee also said that the prime minister expressed his good wishes to Thai people in general and, in particular, soccer fans, who can watch the soccer matches via the NBT2HD channel, which holds the rights to broadcast the matches live, at a time when many people may be under stress because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. webfact
PM orders relevant agencies to prevent Euro 2020 gambling By Sirakij Pornbanggird BANGKOK (NNT) - The Government’s Deputy Spokesperson, Traisulee Traisaranakul revealed today that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha is concerned about people gambling during the football event “Euro 2020” and stressed the Police Department, the Ministry of a Digital Economy and Society and related authorities, must tackle violators such as online gambling websites and prosecute the agents. Deputy Spokesperson Traisulee added however, that Euro 2020 aired on NBT2HD is expected to reduce Thai people’s tension caused by Covid-19. But getting involved in gambling related to the football tournament, can cause much more burden as it is illegal, and can cause a loss of property. In addition, the PM also directed restaurants not to sell alcoholic drinks during a football match as it is against CCSA’s Covid-19 prevention measures. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-06-14 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Surely at this time of serious crisis he should be devoting his time to matter if a much more serious nature. Then what can you expect from a man who spends his time on LA LA land. 7

Popular Post mickyr55
The country is falling apart due to government incompetence, but the PM is worried about the possibility of a couple of weeks illegal gambling. mtls2005
PM concerned over illegal gambling during Euro 2020 soccer tournament Is he concerned that they aren't gambling enough? Thank goodness someone trotted along with 300 MM baht so the government TV station could broadcast the matches, which only serves to increase interest in gambling.

mikebell
'PM concerned over illegal gambling' - he is not concerned at the soaring daily death toll caused by his Government's failure to buy enough vaccines for his people. In fact, he's laughing all the way to the bank.
Xonax
If the PM is concerned over illegal gambling, he should just legalize gambling in Thailand.
Scott Tracy
Make it legal. Tax it. Make money for the government. Admit the obvious, everyone does it, whether you are concerned or not. Everyone, even those who are charged with enforcing the no gambling laws... Edited June 14, 2021 by Scott Tracy Corrected some grammatical errors. Eric Loh
No wonder the vaccination program is falling into disarray attending to petty issues which should be purviewed by the Interior Minister. CrunchWrapSupreme
He's miffed that the 300 million baht to get the Euros on state TV came from the uncle of his political rival. Concerned about football gambling? For years there's been a Thai site right out in the open, on Facebook and on TVs in nightclubs, complete with illegal streams for you to watch as you place your bets. Jimbo2014
I dont know how the PM sleeps at night with so many concerns. This is, of course, the highest priority for the moral integrity of Thailand to remain intact. Lottery ticket anyone? ???? holy cow cm
Probably one cannot take it face value as it is probably stated to have an opposite effect. Like don't gamble coming from him will be met with disdain and then they will gamble more, and then when the authorities move in and bust all of the domestic gambling operations of preselected choice then there will be more baht to confiscate for pocket lining and applying to the Gov coffers. WineOh
they always seem to focus on the usual suspects. Drugs, gambling, prostitution, alcohol sales, sex toys. Anyone notice a theme here?? The government doesn't want the general public to be having any kind of fun whatsoever. Proper party poopers these lot!
