Sanook investigated after a very Thai drama erupted by the roadside of the Route 36 Bypass in Nikhom Pattana district of Rayong.

A woman had stopped to buy the famously smelly durian by the side of the road.

After agreeing to buy and itemizing what kind of flesh she was after the traders - a married couple - cut open the fruit and placed the flesh in polystyrene trays.

But the customer decided it was not to their liking and refused to pay the 670 baht. This resulted in one of the traders throwing the fruit inside the customer's car after she walked off.

It was splattered all over the console.

Even if you like durian clearing up that mess might leave some residual odor, suggests Thaivisa.

Netizens saw the funny side saying it was lucky they didn't throw the whole fruit.

The woman went online to air her grievances and in a surprise move in defamation crazy Thailand named and shamed the location of the stall.

Sanook went there and found Phrairat,36, and his wife Jirawan, 39, who blamed the customer and said she got what she deserved.

Nikhom Pattana police decided that both were at fault. The trader for tossing durian and causing damage and the customer for reneging on an agreement to buy.

No mention was made of any fines in the Sanook report published yesterday after the incident apparently on Tuesday.

I was imagining someone being clubbed by an unopened fruit

Come on now, who in their right mind would put a fresh turd in their mouth ? Cos that is exactly what it smells like to me, many apologies to all of you that love the king of fruit.

I know, I'm a heathen ????

Possibly got what she deserved but apparently not what she asked for... 670 baht for something that smells worse than road kill.

Yuk.

Could've been worse , if it had been a roadside custard pie stall the custardmer might have copped one in the face ..
