wayneroy
Hi to you all, thanks to all your advice form this forum my thai wife got her 2yr mult entry settlement visa for the UK . Now we are in the UK we wish to save for a home and realy need two wages for a good income, but it only sayes on the visa ; NO RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUNDS. We have appiled for an National insurance number which she needs to go and interveiw for in a few weeks so she may work, I just want to know if she can work because I did fill out the visa form saying that she was not going to work while in the uk??? If she can not work we will not need to get the national insurance number as she does need the number other than work. What do you guys think???? Thanks wayne
Mahout Angrit
On a settlement visa your wife is free to work The normal proceedure requested by job centre (social security) offices is that she finds a job, gets a job offer, applies for NI number. Her employer will often be given a temporary number to get her started. If you can get the NI number without the job (which is possible in some places) then finding a job should be straightforward.
