Selling a vehicle and was told I'd need one of these again. Appointments at US embassy not available until August. I was told that one can now (for an extra 1000 baht?), get one of these in 1 day at the Thai govt office near Bangkok. (Seems I heard before these took about 3 weeks to get.) That person said this is now done at the same place they do 90-day reports (Muang Thong Thani, near Impact Arena).

Has anyone done this recently and can tell me if it's correct and any things to look out for? One page I found said to bring the below (i.e., the usual stuff). "Receipt of Address Notification" I assume means for my latest 90-day report receipt (which I have, always doing by mail recently, as online is hit and miss). I assume they have a copy service there? And a place that can take a photo? Thx

  • your passport
  • copy of your passport’s photo page
  • copy of your visa (if applicable)
  • copy of your TM6 Departure Card
  • copy of your Receipt of Address Notification
  • copy of your lease/house book with your name and address
  • two passport-size photos

Make sure your landlord/you have done the TM30 in your passport.

In Bangkok you must have completed your first 90 day report.

You pay a 200 baht fee for EMS postage for them to mail the certificate of residency to you in about 2 weeks.

Are you certain you need one? Did they tell you at the LTO? I have sold several vehicles and never been asked for a COR. Only when buying.

Receipt of address notification is TM30 i believe. No the same as 90 day reports. If you have done one there will be an extra paper slip in your passport with your address on.

In Bangkok you don't need one for selling a vehicle.

AFAIK only Chon Buri requires it.

If you are a seller, the lady at the last but one shop at the entrance to the car park to Banglamung LTO will do all the paperwork.  Take all the necessary paperwork, and she will sort the documents and for a couple of hundred Baht will sort out the paperwork, and you can depart the scene.  Having bought and sold various vehicles over the years - never had a problem.  A buyer will have a bit more bureaucracy to sort out by which time you are miles away.  May not be the same deal at your local LTO, but I bet the same solution is available at a price at any LTO.

Passport, house book (yellow or blue),  reg for the car/bike, and that's about it at Banglamung  LTO.  As usual, the documents and copies will vary
