billsmart
I registered for my first shot of vaccine on Mor Prom. I got my first shot on June 7. It was AZ. My second shot is scheduled for 27 Sep, 16 weeks later. Now I read Thailand has decided to reduce the time between the shots to 10 or 12 weeks. And, one my friends who lives in Bangkok and got his shot there has been called and his second shot date moved up. Does anyone know how and who we can contact to move up the date of a second vaccine shot? In a case like this, I would expect the government would notify us via our online apps, such as Mor Prom, of a new date, but I would like to be more proactive on securing a new date. Thanks... 1FinickyOne
wouldn't it be logical to contact the place where you got the first shot? Di you have any sort of reaction?

Popular Post billsmart
NEW INFORMATION ON THIS TOPIC I registered on Mor Prom and got my first shot (AZ) on Mon, Jun 7. I was given a date for the 2nd shot of Mon, 27 Sep, 16 weeks later. My friend went through the same process as I did and got his first shot a day after me and was given his date for the 2nd shot a day after mine. We've heard so much about how Thailand (and other countries) are reducing the time between shots that my friend went down today to our local Ampur compound (where we got the shots) and asked about it. The lady he talked to knew EXACTLY what he was asking and confirmed that it was their intent to reduce the time between shots. She said the vaccine for the second shots were on order, and as soon as they arrived we would be contacted via Mor Prom and given a new date. What wasn't clear was if we would be given a range of dates to choose from, or just given a new date. We will wait for about another month and if we haven't heard anything via Mor Prom by then, we'll go down and ask for an update. I'm offering this just to keep everyone up to date on what I've done and what I've learned. 1

Originally, they allowed 16 weeks from the 1st to 2nd AZ shot. By the time I got my 1st shot on June 23, it had been dropped to 12 weeks. A committee had earlier said they were considering dropping it to 8 weeks because of the rise of Delta. I asked the vaccination center doctor about it on June 23, in fact, I requested 8 weeks. She said they knew about it but had not yet received instructions. She said if it is changed, they will automatically reschedule everyone and notify them by SMS or email. I did not need to worry, she said. My feeling is they are pretty good at keeping track of second doses. They intend to give them on time, what ever time that might be. 2
CANSIAM
Received my AZ July 3, #2 September 23, just over 11 weeks.........
LongTimeLurker
The optimum delay for the second dose of AZ was originally 12 weeks, but the UK decided to reduce this so that they could get more people vaccinated with the first dose. This may be reducing due to Delta. If possible stick to your 12 week schedule as it's supposed to be more effective. From what I've read, I'm no expert, but then again, neither are the "experts"
