Hi to all,

Now please I need to know: after the wedding, which kind of visa we have to apply and how much will be the fee?

Thanx so much

Toto,

If I remember rightly, you're Italian. If this is the case, after you've registered your marriage at the amphur, your wife should have a TB test undertaken, the details of which are on the embassy website. In fact, she can have the test done now (depending upon when you expect to marry) as it is valid for 6 months.

Once you have a clear TB test result, you can then make the visa application on form VAF1. This has to be submitted to the visa application centre in Bangkok which forwards the papers to the embassy for consideration. As your wife will be the spouse of an EEA national, she will apply for a family permit rather than a visa, and the application is free of charge. She will, however, have to pay the application centre service charge of 450 baht.

Your wife will have to demonstrate that you are married, that you are Italian and that you are working in the U.K. The latest regulations governing family permit applications state that if the application is made outside of the EEA, the usual requirements of the immigration rules should also be fulfilled, so you may also have to supply evidence that your relationship is genuine and that you have adequate accommodation.

Cheers,

Scouse.

Toto,

I said above that you would have to pay a 450 service charge to the visa application centre. Well, I've just had a look at their website, and their charges are now included in the embassy fee. Now, as family permits are free, there is no embassy fee, and the VFS website seems to indicate that you do not have to pay their charge either. In this instance, your only visa-associated cost is going to be the TB test.

Thank you so much Scouse,

yes, I am Italian, holding a italian passport and a UK residence documentation for a national of an EEA state, working in the UK from 6 years.

I let you know that after the wedding we will also register our marriage in the Italian Embassy in Bangkok

So if I don't misunderstand, with the family permit can my wife entry in the UK and working?.

Do you know how long it will take to bring my wife to UK ?

I hope this is the best and fast way to bring my wife with me.

Thank you so much for your kind help

My best regards

Toto,

If all goes to plan, your wife's family permit should be issued within days of the application. Even if the embassy wish to interview your wife, their own instructions say that she should not be placed in a queue; i.e. any interview should take place within a matter of days rather than weeks.

The family permit is valid for entry to the UK for 6 months from the date of issue, and your wife can lawfully work. Providing that you and your wife stay together, she can stay in the UK as long as she wishes without having to apply for any further permission. The difficulty is that if she were to leave the UK, she would then need another family permit in order to return. Consequently, once she's arrived in the UK it's in her own best interests to make an application to the BIA for a residence card as the spouse of an EEA national. This application is free, but expect the BIA to take about 6 months to consider it.

Sorry Scouse I don't understand well.

We plan to stay in the UK for long time and to build our business

Whit the family permit she can come to UK just for 6 months? And she can't leave the UK before she will get the residence card, right?

Where and how we have to providing that me and my wife stay together?

Please Scouse suggest me the best way for us:

Apply in Bangkok for UK fiancee visa and get marry in UK or get marry in Thailand and theN apply for family permit?

I am sorry to bother you and ask you many questions, I hope you undersand my feeling.

Toto,

Once married, your wife should apply for a family permit. Once she is in the UK, she can then make an application for a residence permit. Again, this application is free.

All the best,

Scouse,

Thank you very much for your suggestion. This will guide us to do the right way ane will not be failed as we scared. I am very busy from mu current job, that's why, I don't hqve much time to find out something more. From now, I will start to prepare and translate all documents need in order to finish this bad situation, I mean staying faraway from my love, and we can stay together.

I am also waiting the paper from my B/F that he has to present to Italian council to complete his paper, then I can bring it to continue the process.

Thank you again for all kind helpness.
