geovalin Posted July 20, 2021 Share Posted July 20, 2021 Following todays news that over 100 people were arrested – including foreign nationals – in a major Phnom Penh condo raid, it has now been revealed that the raid was on a clandestine nightclub being operated in direct defiance of Royal Government regulations. The raid took place at 12.10am this morning behind the former X2 Entertainment Club on the corner of Street 55 and Street 222 in Daun Penh. The operation was led by Brigadier General Teng Sothy, Deputy Commissioner of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police and included elements of the Special Intervention Force of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police (SDU) and the Bureau of Minor Offenses and the Bureau of Immigration. The target of the raid was a 12 story building currently under repair. On the 6th floor of the building is a ‘secret place’ where a illegal nightclub has been operating to enable revellers to take drugs and party in defiance of Royal Government regulations on large gatherings.
