Daily News reported that Pol Lt Sumethas Borwonnanthakun of the Thong Lo police responded after reports of a man who had died on the sidewalk in front of Lotus on Rama IV in the Klong Toei area of Bangkok.

The man - dressed in black t-shirt, black pants and with a mask around his chin - had no ID and was aged about 40.

He had been seen wandering in the area then collapsed.

Medics in full PPE attended the scene.

The area was sprayed with alcohol before an initial swab test came back negative for Covid-19.

But, the media said, the homeless man still represented a high risk for infection as preparations were made to remove the body.

High risk for infection? Yes, maybe if they let him be on the sidewalk for a couple of days, which I assume is not a normal procedure. No Covid and just fell down dead to the ground. I say that the only risk was that he might fall on someone and accidentally kill that person at the same time.

If one cannot pay the rent and cannot buy food and water because there are no jobs -and there is no money for the poor, then there is an argument that the death was Covid related.

Very sad. RIP.

The Thai media appear to be a bit stupid!

Who would have guessed?

Sad state of affairs...

Yes, actually! Thanks for the compliment. What they mean was high risk for infection due to that one man was confirmed with Covid-19. That was before they came out with the news that corpses are not infectious or able to transmit Covid-19. However, that was something I knew already and therefore made a joke out of.

Sorry if your lack of knowledge made you feel like I needed some sarcastic bashing.
