also, you cannot have 1 infected person - there must be at least 2

Good question. Hope not same like in Maikhao. Had to pass 3 covid check points there today. Manned with 4-6 inspectors. They let only locals pass from Maikhao. Same crazyness like last year there again.

No, that's not what was said. And yes, you can easily have 1 infected person in 1 area.

This is what he said.....................although I doubt this is what he'll do. Either way strict measures are now needed in Phuket so this does not grow.

Minister Phipat Ratchakitprakarn said, if there’s no outbreak on the island for two weeks, the government will continue with its sealed route scheme on Koh Samui on July 15, followed by Krabi and Phang Nga in August.

He said new infections are the biggest threat to the Phuket “sandbox”, as the island will have to stop accepting inoculated tourists if more than 90 new cases are reported in a week.

Maybe however I'm referring to the government Minister who is in overall charge as cited in the link.

Its not really that important anyway as they flip flip on every decision, whats important is taking quick effective action to stop the spread.

That's enough in any state in Australia lockdown as they have done in NSW with only 29 cases.

I dare say, the Sandbox is now becoming a quick Sandpit as I earlier pointed out.

What you expected after two months of vaccination campaign to reopen in July?

The increase in cases of positivity is due to this indiscriminate vaccination campaign, but most of the hypnotized will perhaps understand in 20 years.

And do not come to tell the usual perceptive manipulation of tourists who have brought the Delta here.

The limit will be raised of course. That is as predictable as the rise in infections was a month ago.

I fail to understand why people cannot see the problem here. If you do not test, you will not get accurate figures.

The EU is unhappy that the UK has so many reported covid-19 cases compared with themselves but when you look at the reason why, the penny drops. The UK tested more people last week than the entire EU combined. It's no use waiting for someone to fall ill, go to hospital and then be tested. You have to test as many people as you can.

Thailand (Phuket) is the same. They don't test many people 116.161 per 1 million pop against the UK 3,483,678 per 1 million pop. A massive factor of 30:1

The truth is that covid is rife in Phuket and Thailand but the attitude is "what the heck, it's only a cold and if I report sick, I will be treated like a leper".

Face it, covid-19 is rife in Thailand.

The UK tested more people than the entire EU combined. Any numbers/links to that ?

According to your maths each person in the UK has been tested 3.483678 times.

Correct ?

3,483,678 per 1,000,000. That is 3.483678 per person so your maths is right. Stats are never exact to the whole number. if you are having trouble with the ,483678 figure I feel sorry for you.. Thailand is one vaccine per 8.6 people but you never mentioned that.

The UK vs EU tests were reported widely. Figures are from WorldOmeter daily totals. They often run interesting stats every now and then. Also reported on BBC, ITV, Sky, France and GB news if you ever watch them.

Many countries only test when someone reports sick.

No checkpoints in Chalong-Rawai area (at least up to yesterday).

You can't compare the UK to the EU because the EU consists of more countries with each having there own rules and ideas of how to fight this pandemic and Bashing Boris didn't do very well in the beginning with the same ideas as the joker in the White House at that time.

No I don't have trouble with the ,483678. I don't have trouble with any numbers unless they aren't true. Furthermore I don't give a $1t about the Thai numbers because it is a dictatorial ruled state and every tribe gets the leader it deserves.

Of course you can compare the EU with the UK. France and Germany have been doing that since Brexit. The UK test rate is 450% more than Germany. This is why the German figures are so low, they don't test until someone goes sick.

As for the joker in the White House,at least he wasn't senile.Joe Biden is probably the biggest joke the Democrats have ever played on the country. But getting back the thread and not taking every opportunity to take a dig at DT, Covid is rife in Phuket and has been since the very start. Unless you test as many people as possible you will never know how bad it is.

My "relatives" in Phuket have all been vaccinated with the dreaded Sinovac but wanted AZ as it offers a very high protection against the Delta strain. They had to take what was offered which is probably better than nothing.

France and Germany alone are not the EU, if I am not mistaken there are 24 more countries left after brexit so don't call two of them the EU.

As for JB I agree 50 % with you but at least he is pleasantly senile and not a women humiliating, hate spreading low class scumbag like DT who is a disgrace to mankind.

Sorry for your "relatives" in Phuket they have to do with Sinovac, I sincerely wish they could get decent jabs but they are like cattle getting moved into the slaughterhouse and accepting everything this government does/says, or not does.

That's why I mentioned before every tribe ( = nation ) gets the leader ( = government ) it  deserves.

Furthermore I inform you that it was a pleasure debating with you and exchanging points of views and opinions. Roger and out.

The EU refer to themselves as an entity. The EU constantly compare themselves to the rest of the world regarding just about every statistic there is. I cannot understand why you have an issue with comparing the EU unless you come from an EU country that is unhappy with the way the EU is expansing it's socialist aims.

It is perfectly reseanoble to compre the EU to the UK and toThailand and then Phuket. How else can you compare what is happening in Phuket to the rest of Thailand and then the world?

Thanks to this wonderful gift from China, Covid is with us for ever. We will have to live with it, have constant booster jabs each year and just treat it as a very extreme version of the common cold. I feel for countries like Thailand where the population do not have access to vaccines as easy as others. This is purely down to the management of the issue.
