Popular Post webfact
Goodbye Cha-Am Beach The popular beach resort of Cha-Am in Phetchaburi province now has no beach - if netizens are to be believed. Kapook published the latest pictures from the resort along with a "Goodbye Beach" caption. This was after a long stretch of about 14 steps leading down to the sea were installed. The media said there was now very little space to actually walk on the sand. Netizens were saying that when referring to Cha-Am in future it won't be a visit to the beach but a trip to see the steps. Others noted that the measure was vital to prevent further erosion, however. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-07-26 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 2
Popular Post Denim
Perfect for falling down when half cut after a couple of beers under your sunshade. Mind you, that's a pretty long beach . I doubt if those steps go right to the south end. 2
2long
If Lord Prayut's Covid restrictions continue, it will make not a jot of difference, because no one will allowed anywhere near. On a more-serious note, this does look like an eyesore and a hazard for slipping or falling. I used to really enjoy taking the kids there to ride ponies. Maybe that's all over now.

xtrnuno41
Well you ve seen the pics of, i believe, Pattya. Sand washed away and also destroying beach. With rising water levels it happens and it could take more land after the beach. Agree its not nice to see and spoils the beach. However no one ever complained when they were building, or they built it in 1 day? Now it is finished and people complain? May hope they made it good and tight, otherwise you have to restart again and then the project becomes like carrying water tot he sea. In the meantime you can use it as an exercise machine, up & down stairs 20 times to start with?!
SunsetT
The beach sand probably contains 50% cement now like South Takiab beach after they built the ferry terminal!

DaLa
Looks ok to me . Cha Am 'beach' extends 6 Km and 3 times that from Puk Tien to Hua Hin. Say again.
kekalot
yeah, I live in Cha-am and had no idea where those steps even were.. I asked and apparently they are on the South part of town where it's always been ugly and where the bar soi is. I always wonder why anyone even wanders that way, definitely not for the beach cause it's always been rubbish for the last 10 years at least
Iron Tongue
Steps will be really useful for tour buses to stop and drop off mobs of package tourists for 15-minutes of selfies before moving on to the trinket shop
