hi all i would like to get a thai passport for our new born son so that he would have uk&thai passport's, so that our son would benifit from both country's and wuld be able to come and go etc etc,now i know that this is possible as scouse's son has both as many others do as well,I would like to know how to go about getting the thai passport for our son,from start to finish step by step??????

we will be back in thailand in august so we would like to do it then if possible, so what paper work will we need to take etc etc with us and where do we have to go etc etc????

also is it possible to open a thai bank account in our son's name????

Congrats on the baby.

It's no prob's - cross the T's and dot the I's - it can be done, loads of guys have done it. I done it for both my kids.

The subject has being written up and discussed in loads of detail on this forum - you'll just have to do a bit of searching, but it's all here in loads of detail - you'll have to go back a few pages and search the various threads.

One thing to take into consideration, Pete, is that before you apply for your son's Thai passport he will need a Thai birth certificate, and this can only be issued by the amphur of the area he was born. As he was born in the UK, he'll have to get the birth certificate from the Thai embassy in London, and you might as well apply for a passport at the same time.
