webfact
Residents of a remote community help move food donations from the Bangkok Community Help Foundation in Phra Kanong district in Bangkok on July 23, 2021, as Covid-19 coronavirus cases in the kingdom continue to reach new highs on a daily basis. Lillian SUWANRUMPHA / AFP Thailand’s Department of Disease Control (DDC) is recommending a ten-point guideline for people who go outdoors for work, business or other essential reasons, to prevent them from bringing COVID-19 back home to their families and friends. The department’s Deputy Director-General Dr. Sophon Iamsirsithavorn said today (Thursday) that, during the course of recent investigations of infected cases, they have noticed that quite a few people were unable to provide the sources or locations where they suspect they caught the disease. The department, therefore, had to develop measures to prevent the disease from being spread into homes by people returning from outdoors, he said. Popular Post brucegoniners
It's things like this that make the Thai people so ignorant about this stuff. Guys, this virus is spread by droplets directly from an infected person and nowhere else. Sitting on furniture or petting your dog is not going to spread the virus, repeat, it's not going to spread the virus. Yes, wash your hands. Yes, wear a mask when indoors or around people. Yes, keep social distance. But this other stuff is completely unnecessary. This is the kind of stuff that makes my wife wear a mask when alone in the car or outside on the patio in our quarantine hotel. I'm so fed up with this misinformation I could scream! 4
Ombra
The WHO says ventilation is also important. Air blowing through your house will reduce the risk of contracting the virus.
johng
And the 10 points are Wash your car every time you return home with detergent and clean the door handles, upholstery, steering wheel and controls. Keep shoes outside your room or house. Dispose of your face masks at a separate dust bin. Clean your wristwatch, baggage, smart phone, glasses and keys with sanitizer. Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching anything in the house or sitting on a chair or sofa before taking a shower. Avoid touching any pet or anyone else in the house or apartment. Separate the clothing worn outdoors from those worn indoors. Take a shower and wash your hair immediately upon returning home. Upon returning home I put my clothes in the dirty linen basket and take a shower soaping my hair and beard abundantly. I also wash my hands or clean them with gel after touching the newspaper I receive every morning as well as the boxes and bags from deliveries. Popular Post n8sail
Does this government even LOOK at current science on COVID spreading? The US Ambassador was just this morning going on about how the USA actually has a BRANCH of our CDC here in Thailand... The same CDC that in APRIL this year released a paper showing that you have a ONE in TEN THOUSAND chance of contracting covid every time you touch a contaminated surface. In short, you basically cannot get it from touching things! Cleaning surfaces just wastes time, resources and destroys our bodies ability to build a strong immune response to all the OTHER microorganisms we are exposed to constantly.https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/surface-transmission.html 6 ACH minimum for enclosed spaces. That 6 full air changes per hour... less than that and your risk goes up. If you crack a window you can pretty easily meet this. Or.... just SIT OUTSIDE. The idiocy just never stops, and we're NEVER going to reach 'normal' if government officials continue to make rules that serve nothing more than to make it look like they are 'doing something'

Popular Post Caldera
Most of those guidelines will do little to nothing. Proper mask wearing and refraining from mingling and chatting (which I see far too often when walking in the street) are key.
Popular Post ourmanflint
Most importantly wear a mask and keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your pocket and use it every time you leave a shop, building and before you get back in your car, before you leave a taxi, train, bus etc. Try not to touch your face before sanitizing your hands Keep your home and car as clean zones, but washing your car every time you get home is unnecessary and a waste of time and effort Saying all that, aerosol transmission is far more important so keep your distance Edited July 30, 2021 by ourmanflint
dinsdale
The guys in their PPE were around spraying again. Think it's a water/bleach/chlorine mix. Spraying footpaths while the chin wearer brigade or those that think you only need to put a mask on when you go into a shop walk around potentially spreading.
