UK to donate AstraZenca vaccines to Cambodia

Featured Replies

The United Kingdom is donating 415,000 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to Cambodia through a bilateral agreement. The British Embassy in Cambodia on Wednesday said that nine million vaccines are already being donated bilaterally and offered through the COVAX Facility to help tackle Covid-19 abroad and the vaccines are expected to start leaving the UK this week.

It said that Cambodia is among countries set to receive doses and the UK has pledged to donate 100 million vaccines overseas by June 2022, 80 million of which will go to the COVAX Facility. British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab on Wednesday announced that five million doses are being offered through the Covax mechanism to ensure equitable, global access to Covid-19 vaccines.

He said that Covax will urgently distribute them to lower-income countries via an equitable allocation system, which prioritises delivering vaccines to people who most need them. “Another four million doses will be shared directly with countries in need. Cambodia will receive 415,000 doses along with other countries,” he said.

Uk donating vaccines in Cambodia and Thailand! What about priority for expats?

If you were the PM of another country, would you want to deal with a PM who is unelected and bullied his way into power on the back of a shower of other tinpot soldiers who know nothing about politics or how to run a country?

I know I wouldn't. There would be no guarantee that any expats would get any vaccine, and that the vaccine would not be sold to supplement his offshore accounts.
