Cluster infections have been found in 518 factories, located in 49 provinces of Thailand, affecting 36,861 workers who tested positive for the disease between April 1st and July 29th this year, according to information compiled by the Industry Ministry.

The five industries most affected by the clusters are:

Food processing industry, 99 factories.

Electronics industry, 74 factories.

Clothing industry, 47 factories.

Metal industry, 42 factories.

Phetchaburi tops the list of provinces with the highest infection rate among factory workers, logging 4,464 cases. Other provinces are Phetchabun (3,487), Prachuap Khiri Khan (2,538), Samut Sakhon (2,496) and Songkhla (2,209 cases).

Tip of a very large ice-berg.

If shops that sell clothes are considered "non-essential" and have been forced to close, why is it that the factories that make them continue to operate when they are undeniably responsible for spreading corona in large numbers?

What about construction workers? Many more camps shutdown than factories!
