Pattaya – Seven people, composed of three foreigners and four Thai nationals, were arrested last night (July 29th) near Jomtien beach during the mandatory Covid-19 curfew time of 9:00 P.M. to 4:00 A.M.

Here, first, is a video version of this story:

A team from the Chonburi Provincial Police led by Colonel Maykawit Praditphon and the Pattaya City Police set up a nighttime checkpoint and were patrolling along Jomtien beach around 10:00 P.M.

Seven people in total failed to present a permission document to prove that they were allowed outside their accommodation during curfew time. They were taken to The Pattaya City Police Station for further processing. Penalties for this violation could include stiff fines and even potential jail time under strict Covid-19 emergency decrees and communicable disease acts.

Morons scoff the rules and you choose to highlight the police vehicle?

They should have called the police... If I remember correctly it is not allowed to transport people in the open back of a pickup. In addition - what will the insurance cover in case of an accident if people are transported in this way?

Yes, I expect they should have been in chains, separated by a suitable social separation distance (2m) in a long line and slowly marched on foot behind and attached to the moving truck all the way to the Station.

Django style!

At least they will have their own en-suite cells with A/C at the police station.

I feel that kinda news is just to show they are doing their job, and spread fear upon people while there's a lot more they need to do to get things to semi normal at least.

It's a well known fact that military drill instructors yell so the other recruits will hear of one person's mistakes.

I am gratified to see Pattaya still has a police force and some have overcome their fear of the dark.

Well that's one way to get a free Covid test

I'm sure they could have found a room.
