Fake Police Volunteer in Town

In the early hours of 26th May the Dongtan Police was informed by Mr. Jaroon aged 19 – a security guard of the Thepprasit Housing Building that a man who claimed to be a police volunteer asked to search him while he was driving out to buy something to eat.

Since the man had a police radio and a gun on his waist Mr. Jaroon believed that he was a police volunteer and allowed the search.

While searching the man pulled out Mr. Jaroon’s mobile phone and wallet containing 300 Baht and took it – telling Mr. Jaroon to pick it up later at the Police Station and then left on his Honda Wave motorbike.

When Mr. Jaroon arrived at the Dongtan Sub-station he did not find the man so made a report.

A record of Mr. Jaroon’s statement was made and the police are now searching for this imposter.
