The Pattaya Food Bank program has been helping the needy in the Pattaya area for the past sixteen months as the local community has been devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting measures and restrictions that have shut many businesses in the Pattaya area.

 

Pattaya, the 19th most visited city in the world in 2019, with over ten million foreign visitors and roughly seven million domestic visitors, has always relied on hospitality, entertainment, and tourist attractions for the majority of their GDP…a whopping 80% at least, and some estimates place it much higher informally.

 

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 related restrictions and measures, all three major sectors that Pattaya’s economy revolves around have either been force mandated to close or have no customers due to a lack of both foreign and domestic tourists.
