Not sure I am allowed to post this here but can only try. Have mentioned this on other threads and seems quite a few people want to try it.

If anyone wants to free test a UK service that gives up to 5 times quicker downloads mail me at [email protected] and I,ll send the link. Yes Ican earn a commission(small!) but it is an excellent product and well worth checking out

For the gamers amongst us, this wont actually help with speeds when gameing...

From what i can make out, Its a protocol that can be used to compress images/files on the web, making the actual download size of a web page smaller than the original... but you will loose some quality on the pictures.

Its not actually going to speed up your internet access at all, it will just give the impression of speed because any graphics you downlaod will be compressed, at the cost of quality.

So, from what i've worked out, its going to be ok for surfers, but no good for gamers... shame eh?

Disclaimer: i've not actually tried or tested this product, but i've done some research on the net about it.

That's more or less correct. You can choose the image quality you want(4 settings) but text is also compressed. The result is much faster downloads. Currently doesn't speed up MP3, Video or flash downloads. These will be available later in the year as an upgrade - free for existing users. Cost works out at about 135 Baht/month which ain't bad. It's had loads of rave reviews in the UK press ie

"ONSPEED is different - it really can give your poor old dial-up connection a significant boost"

Internet Magazine

Best to just try it and see for yourself

Internet Thailand has a similar product called Inet-Speedy. It's OK if you just want faster-loading web pages and don't mind some degradation in image quality.

Having used this during the trial can say I was not impressed. There was a little speed up for web pages but if I tried to download anything it would fail or be corrupt. Could have just been my system but was using current IE on Win 98 at the time and decided long before trial was over it was not for me.

There is nothing else like ONspeed out there. It really is unique

"When so many programs claim to speed up your Net connection, it's refreshing to find one that actually does it."

.Net Magazine - 5 Stars

Here is the link for anyone who wants to test it for a week

www.onspeed.com/downloads/onspeed_jsk_trial.exe

You'l be happily suprised
