Pattaya, Thailand-Highlights:

Banglamung Police arrested eighteen people for holding an illegal birthday party in Pattaya that violates strict Covid-19 rules

Drugs were also found at the scene, according to police, including ecstasy pills

Six of the suspects tested positive for drugs in their system

Banglamung Police raided a birthday party late last night, August 17th, arresting a total of eighteen suspects. Parties and social gatherings are currently illegal in Chonburi province, which includes Pattaya, due to Emergency Decree rules to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The raid took place at 11:00 P.M. last night, August 17th, at a home in Ban Grak 6 located in the Nong Pla Yen sub-district of Banglamung. The raid was led by Lt. Col. Sakchai Suwannakul from the Banglamung police station. The raid followed a tip being made to police about the party from a concerned citizen who was allegedly afraid the event could spread the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Did they immediately give all in attendance an antigen test? Otherwise just more coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Oh wow, what an amazing performance from cops! No, they don't intend control illegal traffic from neighboring countries - not dangerous. Now they are at more important task: pevent illegal birthday parties and arrest cakes with Mickey Mouse! Cakes are illegal under Emergency Decree!

So nothing to do with the reward for dobbing them in?

More morons to add to the ever sinking brain trust

Is there a reward for doing such things, never read about it. Im sure some people would do such things to claim money.

No reward necessary. These Covid rules bring up the worst in people.

The block attendants are out on the watch.

Im divided about this I mean its clearly a risk and breaking the rules. But personally I would not report people on the other hand stuff like this makes us all live with covid longer.

According to The Pattaya News Under the rules, more than one person gathering with alcohol is also against the law currently in the Pattaya area.

So me and the Mrs better report to Pattaya nick then, we have a glass of wine each every night with dinner. ????????

They should have visited Saphan Kwai last night at 1am.....sounded like a rave or dance party going on and it went on for hours. Same gogo place as last weeks event from the direction that the music was coming from. Plenty of people yahooing and carrying on as well, they weren't exactly hiding in fear.

So great !

I feel a lot safer now !

????

Six of the suspects tested positive for drugs ? why the news never publish how much they had to pay to go home freely as 99% of people arrested with drugs ?!

Actually, I meant the party-goers. Sad to say, I´ve given up on the police for life.

I am pretty sure there could be.... everyone wants a commission here for some effort. We know the police do well out of this so why not a tip to a network of informers. Didn't Bangkok authorities offer a payment for those supplying pictures of motorcycles using footpaths?

Great job BiB. Good week. Breaking up birthday parties and shooting 14 year olds. What a show of bravery
