webfact
Picture: Naew Na Thailand's chief of immigration Pol Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang and his staff gave details of a bust of a Chinese run loan sharking operation in Phuket. Following investigations in Bangkok the police discovered that the operation had moved south to the Koh Kaew sub-district of Muang district Phuket. After obtaining a search warrant they moved in and arrested the manager a Chinese man called Liaw, aged 27. This happened on August 9th. He was charged with offences related to running a loan sharking business and working illegally in Thailand. There were 19 employees each paid 10-15,000 baht a month to call 10-15 clients a day to resolve unpaid accounts. For each one they cleared they were paid 8 baht. Money obtained went into Liaw's bank account. There were 20,000 clients on the books and 43 items of evidence were recovered. The business had relocated to Phuket from Bangkok, reported Naew Na yesterday. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-08-20 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

ChC1
Meanwhile, the local sharks are swimming freely and enjoy the moment that invading species are cleaned out. Maybe time to raise the interest rates?
Aussieroaming
Did he relocate because he had been busted in Bangkok? If so, why wasn't he arrested and detained in Bangkok? Maybe the RTP should be following the brown envelopes in Bangkok.
