Daily News reported that three young men involved in trouble in  the Din Daeng area on Saturday appeared in court after they were allegedly found in possession of explosive devices and shotgun bullets.

They were opposed bail after being arrested on Saturday when trouble flared at a toll booth for the tollway.

Two were granted bail in the sum of 35,000 baht on condition they desisted in causing further trouble.

At the central criminal court yesterday in Ratchadaphisek there appeared a 20 year old man called Thanayu Hiranrat from Bangkok, Thirameth Chaibut, 18, from Loei and Thongthos Mangeu, 27, from Bangkok. They appeared via video link.

They were ordered held for 12 days as evidence is gathered from five witnesses and fingerprints are assessed.

They all denied the charges but only one will be held until September 3rd.

It related to trouble that started in Asoke and spread to Din Daeng between 5 pm and 8pm on Saturday.

Firecrackers and explosive ping-pong devices were hurled, say police, along with marbles fired from slingshots.

Police have said their efforts to prevent trouble were justified but video also emerged of what some said were heavy handed tactics in the area, notes ASEAN NOW.

Officers were seen rushing a group of motorcyclists several of whom came off their vehicles.

Two of the men were apprehended as a group of motorcyclists attempted to flee.

Several motorcycles and phones were taken into evidence in the incident, reported Daily News, along with the explosive devices and ammunition.

Protests are one thing but when they are hijacked by insane people with violence in mind it's lost the cause.
