BANGKOK, Aug 26 (TNA) – The rates of hospital bed occupancy among COVID-19 patients of all color codes fell while officials were closely monitoring the number of red-coded patients in Bangkok, according to the Department of Medical Services.

 

Dr. Somsak Akasilp, director-general of the department, said the number of the patients who recovered and were discharged from hospitals was growing to about 20,000 per day and the management of hospital beds highly improved especially that for yellow-coded patients.

 

Officials were trying to limit the number of red-coded patients at 1,000 in intensive care units in Bangkok.

That's great news and a much more reliable indicator than the number of positive tests.

If that is such a good news, why are there still people dying at home or waiting for many days to get a bed??? Now the peak is over everyone could be hospitalized.... or  are the cases more thann the official numbers??

Of course bed occupancy is reducing, because patients are being sent home to recover,  doesn't take a scientific brain to work this out.... 

If they conk out of hospital space I know a fantastic location that would probably fit 100,00 + beds, has great logistics for food, parking and emergency vehicle access, it's own emergency services team, is fully air conditioned, and totally vacant now and the foreseeable future - it's known as Suvarnabhumi.

Follow the news please... People are waiting to be taken to the hospital sometimes for days..

Don't ask me..... ask the ones who are responsible for that

Isnt the policy now to discharge patients who are feeling better and able to function without an oxygen tank. 

They are now not subject to a covid test before being sent home........so that frees up hospital beds for the people they infect by going home untested.

How does this work?

Stop hospitalising every one who tests positive and that will free up hundreds of beds.
