A 16-year-old girl has been rescued from drowning at a swimming pool in a housing estate in Banglamung last night (September 6th).

Emergency responders were notified of the incident at 9:00 P.M. at a housing estate in Nongprue.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the girl, whose name has been withheld due to her age, 16. She had already been pulled up from the pool by local residents nearby.

Unfortunately in Thailand most parents don't bother. So sad to see on Thai news so many children drowning. It's a national problem - like driving - and like the latter doesn't receive any government priority.

And keep an eye on them while swimming, and make sure they tell you if they are going for a swim. The mother said her daughter was not a strong swimmer, yet it was her friends who had to alert her.
