The Royal Thai Police's deputy spokesman Pol Col Siriwat Deephor has warned people in Thailand about getting ripped off buying cheap vehicles online.

This came after a 27 year old dealer called Peerasin was arrested by the Crime Suppression Division.

He advertised hundreds of vehicles with fake plates including cars, motorcycles and tractors. He even had a line in livestock but the bottom line in three years of operation was that people lost millions of baht.

He had claimed on Facebook that the items were cheap as they were the result of people not claiming them from pawnshops, reported INN

Siriwat said that people should beware and always inspect vehicles in realtime especially ones advertised as cheap.

Checks should be made that registration books were in order, not illegally amended and that things like engine numbers corresponded with numbers in the books.

Never buy a car or bike with an engine number scraped off and always practice due diligence and research when buying anything online especially motor vehicles.

Preaching to the choir.. although there are many who still, might fall into a category of what he's trying to warn people of...

Was one of his suppliers a certain Mr Joseph Ferrari?

There’s one or two on Baht&Sold you can spot them due to the price and then when you make an enquiry you get a sob story back like My husband died or I’m stuck in barracks in Germany the other tell tale sign is the block the number plate out the Nigerians are the biggest fraudsters . I reported one the other week to Baht&Sold but never got an answer back from them

3 years before anything happened?

All Thai police work at this speed; 1st year is spent exploring if it's worth it to the police to proceed. 2nd year is spent racking up overtime on non-existent useless tasks. Finally 3rd year is all about maximising publicity to justify their existence.
