Thailand’s National Health Security Office (NHSO) has paid a total of 157.29 million baht in compensation to 3,224 people who suffered serious side effects after inoculation with COVID-19 vaccines.

NHSO Secretary-General Dr. Jadet Thammathat-Aree said today (Wednesday) that as of September 10th, the office had received 4,333 complaints from people who claimed to have suffered from post-inoculation side effects.

Of all the complaints, 3,224 cases have received the compensation, totalling about 157 million baht, and 1,004 cases have been rejected, with an additional 105 cases yet to be processed.

How kind of them. First they mix-and-match with vaccines that are made for work after the recommended guidelines. After that they have 3224 people with serious side effects. they get the handsome amount of 1 600 usd per pax. How generous!

Doesn't say which vaccines or combo's caused this.

Smart reporting - people can draw their own conclusions and then be told they're totally clueless because the truth remains hidden.

It's the Thai way.

Head games again?  when it comes to Thailand money talks so if you make sure a claim of payout more will take the chance of getting the vaccine even if it is the Sinovac?  I'm no math experts but the number don't pan out especially when the government made a claim months ago if one dies from the vaccine victims family was to be compensated 400,000 baht then months later an article claiming ????those dying wasn't getting any money?????

Serious side effects, which may or may not be directly attributable to the vaccine, or combination of vaccines.

How many delivered? What percentage of vaccinated are affected? Seems to me to be quite a high number, but the percentage will tell better.

How come this seems not to have been reported elsewhere in the world?

To where can I go for compensation?

Have also side effects after the second jab.

What side effects?  What jab?

These happen, but are extremely rare. In any case, they are probably better than the alternatives. Dying or being in the hospital with a tube jammed down your throat.

I've got several friends who've had covid. Many are suffering consequences months later. One is still suffering a year later.

Best of luck!

Among the 12-17 group, CDC reports 9% have serious side effects for pfizer (only approved for that group) and 4% have serious heart problems.

As someone who suffered from myocarditis as a child, I can tell you it is not a walk in the park.   I spent considerable time in the hospital.  It was not painful, but just needed to be monitored.   It was caused by a viral infection.  Not long before that I also had Rheumatic Fever and spent considerable time in the hospital for that as well -- that took longer to heal (it never fully healed and the result was a life-long heart murmur).  That was caused by a bacterial infection.

The risk maybe real for myocarditis, but from your link it would appear that a person is much more likely to get it from the actual disease than from the shot:

They found that the risk of heart inflammation was 21 times higher among girls with COVID and about six times higher among boys with COVID compared with the vaccination group.

Health day is a site produced by one person. Don't know about it's credibility. But the stats don't seem good.

Healhday news is recognized by US News, WebMD, and many more just like reuters. The same stats were also reported in US news (the source being healthday news). I don't have time to dig into CDC report.

The article actually states that only 0.1% reported side effects and then 9% of the reported ones were serious. Hence, it is 0.01% chance to have serious side effects.

Many people do not understand statistics, percentages, and what they really mean. So, for instance you have about a one in 30,000 chance of dying on any day (averaged over lifetime), so if you vaccinate 30 million people a thousand could be dead the next day ...... but it had nothing to do with the vaccination. And that is just deaths, what about how many times you were ill in your lifetime from a unknown cause?

nearly all those 3,000 serious 'side effects' had nothing to do with vaccination, just a coincidence. But proving that the vaccination didn't cause it isn't easy (or cheap), so any case with reasonable doubt gets paid out.
