Thailand needs to play a more “assertive role” in order to make its presence in regional and international diplomacy more meaningful while maintaining a balancing act to avoid being dragged in the intensifying superpower rivalry. But getting its own house in order is also imperative if it wants its voice of be heard with more respect and authority.

‘Phuket Sandbox’ welcomes 33,000+ arrivals during 1 July – 16 September

No CCSA decision yet on Bangkok reopening on Oct 15th, quarantine remains

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has not yet made a decision on the reopening of Bangkok to fully vaccinated and COVID-19 negative international arrivals by October 15th, but mandatory quarantine will remain in place for visitors or returnees to the city, according to the CCSA today (Friday).

The Phuket Sandbox does not help most small business owners, says local entrepreneurs
