BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) is gearing up to develop the cyber security skills of personnel working in 7 sectors of critical information infrastructure (CII), as cybercrimes are intensifying around the globe, particularly during the pandemic when organizations pivoted towards online work.

Digital Economy and Society Minister and NCSA board Chairman Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn said the first phase of the intensive capacity-building training program targets 2,250 trainees in a fundamental course, as well as almost 1,000 specialists and executives in related courses by 2022.

He said cybercriminals exploit organizations’ system vulnerabilities to gain access to sensitive corporate data, particularly those dealing with CII, which could cause economic and social damage to the country.

According to Mr. Chaiwut, the 7 key CII sectors, comprising state security agencies, public services, finance, telecom and information technology, transport and logistics, energy and public healthcare, are frequently targeted by cybercriminals via malware and ransomware. The development of cyber security skills among experts and executives is the most important factor in helping to fend off cyber-attacks.

The development of skills to get an app to work would be fine, as for cyber security skills that's a big ask.

I guess it depends on course content and who delivers the courses.

Wonder if that's a teleprompt app he's got running on his tablet there.

As a distraction, the tie didn't work.
