Acting on a tip from an informant immigration police in Bangkok and colleagues from the human trafficking police went to Bang Bon in western Bangkok where they arrested a 31 year old Chinese national.

Hai Ning tried to flee in a private car when he saw the police but was soon in custody.

Nothing illegal was found in his car but various stamps on page 24 of his passport raised suspicions confirmed by analysis with the BIOMETRICS system.

This is the IB's 2.1 billion baht system that tracks foreigners.

Various stamps and visa stamps were shown to be fake and he was thus on overstay.

He is now being investigated for involvement in a gang illegally importing the ATK Covid-19 test kits, reported Naew Na at the IB briefing at Suan Phlu HQ yesterday.

That probably cost half that.

You don't need biometrics to check passport stamps, you just look into the arrival-departure system and see whether the stamps correspond with computer records.

Another day....  Another giant Vinyl poster......

If they issued digital stamps they would not have these problems, and we wouldn't get our passport pages filled up with bureaucratic tosh while not actually travelling anywhere!

But then again, everyones virtual extensions would be stolen and sold online.

Worse and worser here, by the minute.

Shhh! Don't rain on their poster parade!

It's all a 'BIG JOKE'  if you mention that.
