May 31, 2007 : Last updated 04:28 pm (Thai local time)

Rally organised by a satellite television station is moved to nearby area.

The move to Suan Missakawan area came as police barred supporters of PPTV from using the Royal Plaza. It is estimated at 4.30pm that about 400 people are gathering at the new site.

Earlier police closed traffic around the Royal Plaza where some supporters of PPTV started gathering ahead of a rally against the military junta.

Some 150 policemen, bomb squad and police dogs were deployed to the area.

Those who wanted to join the rally scheduled to start at about 4.30pm have to walk to the site as the traffic around the area is closed. It is reported that at about 4pm, police and security officials outnumbered demonstrators.

Although the rally is about the start, there is no mobile broadcast trucks.
