Lucky amulet not so fortunate this time: Suspect nabbed after 18 years on the run

Police had an easy arrest to make at Zeer Street shopping mall in Rangsit, north of Bangkok.

 

An informant had told them where to find Somchai, 40, named in a Lomsak court warrant in December 2003 for assault with an illegal weapon and other weapons offences. 

 

It was two years before the statute of limitations ran out but the cops got their man as he strolled buying things.

 

Identification was easy as the chain was identical to one pictured in a Thai ID card used for the warrant.

 

He admitted to everything and said he had been wearing his Phra Somdej protection amulet since 2012. 

 

He'd been hiding out as a security guard for years. 

 

Now he is on his way back north via the Ayuthaya Highway police after cops from the HP got the tip about the wanted man, reported Sanook

What type of checks are done, after buying uniform from a shop and few cuffs, batons, sunnies
