snoop1130
Bangkok police have offered to hold truce talks with the anti-government “Talugas” group, in an effort to find a peaceful solution to the weeks of violent protests at Din Daeng intersection, Pol Maj-Gen Jirasant Kaewsang-ek, deputy metropolitan police commissioner, told a news conference this morning (Tuesday). He said, however, that the police will have to enforce the law strictly, if protesters resort to violence, while dismissing an allegation that police used teargas at the intersection last night. The deputy commissioner also offered an apology to residents of the Din Daeng community over the searches of some apartment buildings late last night, looking for protesters believed to have been hiding there to evade arrest, insisting that the searches were necessary to restore peace and order. Popular Post internationalism
that's look as a shotgun in a residential building. This technique is for serious arrests of mafia members, murderers etc. Should not be used to random search of private homes and without arrest or searched warrant. Existing state of emergency does not allow for it. That's introducing marshal law to the area, must be justified and legalised by court

I suspect that it is a weapon for firing 'rubber' bullets. However, it is still illegal and the rest of your comments stand.
smedly
I think their demands are pretty clear and from what I can gather through Thai people I talk too a very large part of the population have exactly the same thoughts They seem to be fed up with the Thai style demacracy that isn't actually demacracy - the same people are running the country no matter who they vote for
Aussieroaming
The peaceful solution is for Prayut and his cronies to step down. Given that he is preparing his campaign strategy for another 4 years it seems that the protests are likely to ramp up in coming months. Apparently the first 4 years after he stole control wasn't counted in the mandated 8 year max political leadership, as he wasn't an elected official. Not suprising to see that he has no intention of reliquishing power anytime soon.
