PHUKET: Brown water has returned to Patong Beach and tar balls have been found washed up onto Mai Khao Beach, on Phuket’s northwestern coast, local residents have reported.

 

The water at Patong Beach started changing colour about a week ago, one local resident told The Phuket News. “Been around a week and getting worse,” he said.

 

Photos and a video of the brown water churning onto the sand was provided, taken from the beach in front of the police box at the end of Bangla Rd.

A Lifeguard/Surfer told me the sea gets messy at times during monsoon season....... yearly thing, its quite an un-inviting sight.......

Lucky there ain't any tourists.

That'll draw the rich billionaires in, I bet they've never seen brown water & tar balls on a beach before... might go down as an added attraction for them.

Yes another devious plan to attract quality tourists to a quality destination!

I'm sure an "official" announcement will be made soon   stating there is nothing to worry about as it's a natural phenomenon ! ????

I guess the Brown water and Tar balls will be replacing alcohol for the “New” wave of tourism, go Tourism Authority start the ad campaign while you can get some good beach photos????
