Thai media reported that visitors to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao in Surat Thani would not need to quarantine from today.

Provincial governor Wichawut Jinto said that public health officials in Phangan had made the request in relation to their island and Koh Tao.

Visitors must show evidence of a negative test in the last 7 days and have registered with Save Koh Phangan and Save Koh Tao and have the Mor Chana QR code.

An official announcement is expected after the story was reported yesterday.

Vaccinations in the province have met expectations with 70% coverage expected by the end of October.

In Koh Tao 86% of the population had been vaxxed with two doses, local tourism rep Ramleuk Asawachin stated.

Would they not have quarantined elsewhere before traveling to those islands?
