  • Just wear the mask everywhere that isn't your accommodation. Masks are taken off if you have to eat, or drink.   Enforced? By the general public and they WILL use violence and you won't

You have a change to get a smack in the face by people who don't like that you don't care about other peoples health.

  • Nope, you would be told to mask up by the airline personnel. If you didn't, there would be a nice reception committee present when you landed.   I just don't get these ant-maskers / anti-vax

Thai regulations - mask worn outside at all times.,

Realistically - many wearing a mask on a motorbike.

Many not wearing their mask on a beach.

All wearing a mask in a 7-11 or supermarket etc… or while walking into a restaurant.

Some areas more relaxed than others.

How much is this enforced , do you ever get approached by the police or by the public

I'm guessing you may actually be from a RED state like myself or at least you are one of the lions if you know what I mean. lol

I had the same question on mind but was planning to figure it out when I land there. glad to hear it's getting more relaxed with that non sense.

Enforced? By the general public and they WILL use violence and you won't get any sympathy from the police (or, from anyone else, for that matter).

I flew in two days ago on a Japanese airline, stopped in Tokyo. Only time I wore a mask on the flight was when I moved about the plane. All the flight attendants were wonderful, didn't say a thing.

At Haneda, I did not wear a mask at all. Police walked by and nodded hello and smiled.

But back in LA the day prior to departure, a lot of people were double-masked, even when standing alone in the park on a windy day.....

there is no requirement to wear on motorcycle.

It can be dangerous.

There was at least one fatal case, when at high speed mask moved and covered eyes.

But you can get tightly fitting antipollution active carbon mask, as cyclists do - think of dust pollution during dry and small particles matter during burning seasons

I'm with KB on this - 100% of locals wear a mask everywhere, even when riding - it was the first thing I noticed on the taxi ride from the airport.

There are a few tourists who ignore the regulations, and they will certainly get put straight the first time they walk into a 7.

Regarding the smack in the mouth - there were a couple of guys staying in my hotel, the typical Arab-looking kind that ride TMax's, and they really deserve one. I'm a bit old to act the vigilante, but hopefully one day soon.....

No - prime examples of people with social awareness and responsibility.

I don't really understand what the problem is here. I was stuck in the UK for a year until April and complied with all the mask requirements there. Now I am back in Thailand I have a box of masks in the car and we all wear masks whenever we leave the car. It's not a massive imposition, is it? Then we don't have to worry what others do.

What amazed me this year is how quickly the majority of the UK populace dispensed with their masks as soon as they were no longer mandatory. if I was still there I'd be wearing a mask in public places. Apparently there are problems getting passengers to wear masks on public transport <deleted>.  I do hope that the more relaxed environment in the UK does not result in problems this winter.

Just as long as you keep all those feelings & pent-up rage to yourself, up to you. Just dont walk around with a chip on your shoulder and pretend to be the mask police, judging people.

Just enjoy your holiday. You're vaccinated and have nothing to worry about.

What difference does naughty Mr Covid know, sitting or standing, does it make any difference?

You misunderstand.

Sitting, no one could see me. Walking about, I was happy to appease the paranoids.

If I, as paranoid, were sitting next to you, I would insist that you put on your mask as I would be able to see you.

What exactly are you so scared of that would compel you to look over at a stranger and make demands of them?

I just don't get these ant-maskers / anti-vaxers. Selfish is an understatement. They would rather potentially kill you than follow the approved medical practices prescribed by medical experts..

They all seem to think that they know better than these experts.

So if you are vaxxed and believe it effective, how can someone kill you by not wearing a mask?

... with a gun?

Really, someone not wearing a mask might kill me.... How does that work ?

Am double vax'd and Iam lead to believe if I catch the covids it will be mild at worst.

See my answer above.

Neither you, nor your side-kick mentioned vaccination.

Let's change the word "kill" make you sick.

Either way it's selfish, self-centred and wrong.

At least it's only hypothetical as the airlines insists on mask wearing.

You do know that not all people here are vaccinated right? So for these people my original statement stands.

They allow un-vaccinated people on airplanes these days ?

So.....you are only going to go maskless on airplanes? What about the rest of the time?

Multiple anti mask troll bickering posts have been removed also replies.

You are endangering others. So I very much hope the mask police points out your responsibility to other people.

If you were lead to believe that you really don't understand what the percentages mean when referring to vaccinations.

How am I endangering anyone when just about everyone including myself is vaccinated.

A person very, very close to me is vaccinated but she has a cancer and yes, now I am a member of what you call "the Covid Cult".
For her and for the other people that could be immunocompromised or weak in health like her.

Sorry, for me it is a serious problem and I do not appreciate your "quotation marks".

Of course I was  not talking about the mask while riding a motobike.

Bye

Correct, it is your problem, not anyone else. People going about their daily lives are not the reason your "friend" is sick.

That is pretty much true - but even if you are vaxxed you can spread it to someone else... that is why it is generally considered polite to wear the mask...
