Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn admitted today (Friday) that he had jumped the gun with his recent announcement that K-Pop rap idol Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban of South Korea’s group Blackpink would be performing at the New Year countdown event in Phuket.

 

He said that he should not have told the Thai media about the superstar’s possible appearance in Thailand while a deal was yet to be concluded. Lisa’s management agency, South Korea’s YG Entertainment, issued a statement saying the popular singer will not be available for the countdown event and hopes this will not cause confusion in Thailand.

 

Phiphat said he had learned a lesson from his premature revelation to the media and, when asked whether Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli will still be attending the New Year countdown at Bangkok’s Sanam Luang, the minister declined to answer.

Wonder how they'll spend those bt 200 millions  now ? Sure a worthy cause will be found but it won't be where it's needed.

Never mind  he will soon announce that the  baht 200 million cost saved will be donated among the orphanages, HIV care centers and homeless shelters for the people of Phuket as a goodwill New Years gesture.............as they can no longer see their idols!

Safer to cancel her appearance before it is too late.

I'm available and open to similar offers. I have the whole package: good looks, I can sing, dance and skip (all at the same time if that'll help to cheer up the down trodden).
