Police arrest more than 60 over drug and other crimes in a single day

Under the cover of this year’s Halloween criminals thrive and police are active. A spokesman of the Ministry of Interior reported that police have arrested more than 60 people in a single day.

 

According to the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Gen. Kieu Sopheak, told local news on November 1, that more 66 people were arrested by authorities in relation to drug and other crimes on October 31. This is one of the largest single day arrests during the year. The General continued that of the 66 suspects, 21 were arrested in 18 criminal cases and 45 were arrested in 12 drug cases.

 

Drug busts and crimes have been increasing over the past few months, with the biggest drug seizure being the more 300 kgs of drugs confiscated from a boat in Koh Kong. Further reports stated that the drugs originated from Laos and were in transit towards Thailand before it was seized by authorities.
