Thailand vows to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2065 at COP26

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday expressed Thailand’s willingness to fight climate change, aiming to reach carbon neutrality in 2050 and net zero emissions by 2065. He was addressing the World Leaders Summit of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Thammasat abandons plan to get 1.5m doses of donated vaccine from Poland

The Thammasat University field hospital has abandoned its plan to accept a donation of 1.5 million doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine from Poland. The university has failed to obtain an official letter, from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirming its status as the Thai government’s official representative for receipt of the vaccine donation.

Thai employee of company implicated in used medical glove scandal jailed for 4 years

Thailand’s Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court has sentenced a Thai employee of the “Paddy the Room” trading company to four years in prison. The firm allegedly exported about ten million pairs of used rubber medical gloves to the United States.

Cold season officially begins in Thailand

CHIANG MAI (NNT) - The cold season has officially begun, although a noticeable drop in temperatures is not expected to be widely felt in Thailand until November 8. Meanwhile, a sea of fog and blooming wildflowers on top of Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai await tourists, who may start visiting the national park on November 10.

Covid Hits, Crude Oil Price Soars, Thailand’s Fuel Demand Dips

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Department of Energy Business said compared to the first nine months of 2020, Thailand’s fuel consumption dipped 5.2% during the same period this year. From the average of 137.11 million liters consumed every day, it is now 130.3 million liters.

Pa Khlok couple injured as car hits power pole

PHUKET: A couple from Pa Khlok were lucky to escape with only minor injuries after their pickup truck veered off road, struck a power pole and a tree and flipped onto it’s side yesterday (Nov 1), blocking traffic in two lanes on Phuket’s busiest road.

Truck Operators to Intensify Diesel Price Demand
