UPDATE: Family of young woman found dead at Koh Larn resort believes gas leak or smoke inside resort lead to death

The family of a young woman, known as ‘Nong Film’, who was found dead at a resort on Koh Larn last week believes a possible gas leak or smoke caused her death. The family is denying statements made by various relevant officials that the woman drank alcohol or used illegal drugs leading to her death.

51-year-old motorbike driver seriously injured in Ban Bueng accident, other vehicle flees but drops license plate

A 51-year-old female motorbike driver has sustained severe injuries after being hit by a pickup truck at an intersection in Ban Bueng on Saturday (November 6th). The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene, however, the license plate of their vehicle came loose and fell onto the road, helping police track down the driver.

Influx of illegal immigrants to Thailand prompts COVID concerns

Actions to be taken against ‘Clubhouse’ users who discriminate against people from Isaan

Thai Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, has vowed to take legal action against anyone who openly discriminates or has discriminated against people born in the country’s north-eastern region, known as Isaan, in online discussions on the “Clubhouse” platform.

Labour Ministry eyes import of legal migrant workers

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Labour is pursuing the import of legal migrant workers from neighboring countries to meet with an increase in demand for alien workers following the country’s reopening. Unregistered migrant workers currently working in Thailand are encouraged to register for their legal status by the end of this month.

Millions worth of unauthorized health products seized at Bangkok warehouses

BANGKOK (NNT) - The COVID-19 pandemic has given incentives for people to sell health-related products that were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Most recently, authorities have found 5 million baht worth of unauthorized ATK kits and medical equipment at warehouses in Bang Kapi district of Bangkok.

Foreign ministry fixing Thailand Pass system’s issue of slow QR code

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making adjustments to the Thailand Pass system after tourists have had to wait long periods to receive their QR codes. The ministry is now allowing the use of PDF files to facilitate tourists’ selection of their initial hotel which is linked to an accommodating hospital.
