Yes Pattaya forum however thought someone may have suggestions.

So we are off to Koh Samet (our standard go to joint) and the gf has just now thrown a curve ball of also wanting to stay mainland beach in general area for few nights. Have a car.

I'm not familiar and would really appreciate any advice.

Yes looked at Agoda but can't beat first hand advice. Thanks.

I second that. It's right on the beach, short walk is the Crab House restaurant on the beach with any seafood you'd want, nice place.

Thanks.

Good example of how AseanNow can throw up advice.

On Agoda I wasn't looking anywhere near there.

Being familiar with Koh Samed, I had only look area close to pier area. Have own transport so Lord Nelson could be good option.

It's a low key place in Phala Beach, gets busy on Sundays. has a 7-11, lots of eating choices, 3 separate beaches within a few miles.

There are tons of places between Ban Phae and Mae Pim with everything from small beach resorts to branded hotel resorts. If you want to check it out it is a nice drive along the ocean with small sois leading to the resorts. If you must pre book start the search in Mae Pim and the larger places should show up, but I don't think it would be hard to walk in. One of my favorite places is Coca Cola beach.

Thanks for all the replies above.

Has inspired me to explore more.

We are too much creatures of habit. For example when covid started March 2020 we went to Koh Samet and stayed 7 months same spot.

Haven't even stayed/seen the mainland beaches mentioned above.

We ended up booking Banyan Resort. Not fussed if it's soso. Afterwards onto Samed so plenty of time to look at water.

Will spend some time checking out various places along the mainland beaches.

Taking the car certainly adds flexibility.

Glad you enjoyed it.

The 3 nights in this area has opened my eyes up a little.

Always just Bangkok to Pier in taxi then onto Koh Samet.

Bringing the car this time has provided flexibility.

The road upgrade is completed and from where we live in Bangkok near rama 9 Rd the drive down is a dream.
