Brunei Darussalam, like the rest of the globe, has been transformed by Covid-19.
There is little doubt that the pandemic has had a significant influence on many sectors of life.

This was said by Minister of Home Affairs Abu Bakar Apong, who is also the co-chairman of the Steering Committee for the Knowledge Convention 2021, which is being conducted to commemorate Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's 75th birthday.

"Covid-19: A Lesson," the title of the Knowledge Convention 2021, according to the minister, "has asked that the government make reforms to policy and regulations to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic and beyond, including transparency in our communication with the public."

He praised Minister of Health Mohd Isham Jaafar for regularly updating the public on Covid-19 progress in an informative and open manner.

With the increased use of creative means in education, enterprise, and security, he said that Brunei Darussalam is moving closer to realising the Sultanate's Digital Economy Masterplan 2025.

"We see teachers and students adapting to online learning and teaching in terms of education," the minister stated.
Alhamdulillah, we have received a lot of public support in our efforts to ensure that impoverished children are not left behind in the online learning platform."

Since the second wave of Covid-19, he's noticed a favourable trend in the workplace toward financial planning, particularly among those who work from home, as well as a shift in the corporate environment, with shopkeepers and restaurateurs embracing technology to assist them work around the restrictions.

International interactions are another beneficial move in the Covid-19 period, according to Abu Bakar.
The pandemic, according to the minister, enhanced regional and worldwide collaboration through the provision of vaccines and medical equipment.

"These donations clearly demonstrate Brunei Darussalam's close friendly and diplomatic ties with other Asean member countries, as well as the region's resolve to cooperatively tackling the Covid-19 situation," he said.
