Labour Ministry Proposes Labour Import

BANGKOK, Nov 11 (TNA) – The Labour Ministry will seek approval from the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) this Friday for the import of migrant workers and expects the import under memorandums of understanding (MOU) to start in 30 days.

 

Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin chaired a meeting to discuss the legal MOU-based labour import to solve the influx of illegal migrant workers after country reopening amid COVID-19 outbreaks.

 

The meeting acknowledged that employers needed over 400,000 migrant workers and the Labour Ministry will propose the labour import to CCSA this Friday.

Just wondering, would those workers will have to endure the same hassles and costs as us  the long time resident and tourists foreigners or they will be treated in a "special"category of foreigners? because the government has brought them in?...
