BANGKOK, Nov12 (TNA) – The Pollution Control Department together with the Federation of Thai Industries and 11 automobile manufacturers implement an auto clinic project to reduce particulate matter with the size of 2.5 micrometers and less in diameter (PM2.5).

Athapol Charoenchansa, director-general of the department, said that during winter high-pressure systems caused the accumulation of fine dust which breached the safe threshold sometimes.

Therefore, the department implemented the project nationwide with FTI, Toyota, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, MG, Suzuki and Hino from Oct 15 to Feb 28 next year.

Even with required smog checks for older vehicles there are still a plethora of them running around belching clouds of black smoke.

How do they pass the tests?

They either pay 200 baht extra to pass, or they just don't care, nobody is stopping them from driving around anyway.

Only bla, bla, bla, when laws and regulations are not observed or monitored it makes 0,0 sense.

Even, there are already a lot of laws and regulations that are not checked.

But I understand this is only for the outside world to show.
